‘Having grown up close to the coast in Australia, I have a real affinity to coastal landscapes and I can’t narrow it to just one! Some of my favourite landscapes include the Bouddi National Park on the New South Wales Central Coast; the Ipanema-Leblon coastal strip in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and the city of Barcelona in Catalonia.’

Favourite landscape?

‘I have two current favourite landscapes. The first is the countryside of south east Leicestershire and Rutland, for its rolling hills and well-managed agriculture. The second is the Sussex South Downs, which I can see from my house. I like the seemingly endless and unpopulated hills and the dramatic vegetation formed by the seaside weather.’

Favourite landscape?

‘For me, the New forest is a magical place – one of the few places in the UK that truly brings you back to older times. I have a love for animals and the New Forest allows for commoners’ rights, so the animals there are free roaming.’
