The Partnership prepared a strategy for the development of a green infrastructure network throughout the Cambridge sub-region. This includes Cambridge City and five neighbouring local authorities and required the collation of environmental data from over 40 organisations and analysis, via GIS, to identify potential for new green infrastructure projects and initiatives.

The key themes of the strategy are landscape, biodiversity, access and the integration of new development that is predicted to bring a population increase of over 25% in this key growth area.

The Partnership also gave advice on delivery mechanisms and landscape management of the enhanced assets. The strategy forms part of Cambridgeshire Horizon’s Quality of Life initiative that also includes both arts/ culture and recreation studies.
