The role of the Architect was to establish a direct relationship, through the HCC Property Services Level Agreement, with the school. The Architect was able to combine consultation knowledge and help the client formulate their brief. Professional knowledge of materials and construction methods was added to design flair to propose a built design which fits brief and budget and offers the school additional value in both the play and the learning through play. This project serves as an exemplar of the work of the landscape group in an early years school setting and demonstrates the important role of landscape architects in the public sector.
