Won as part of the Sea Change programme run by CABE in 2009. The client ambition was to turn a rundown seafront car parking space into a new focal point and arts hub for the eastern end of the popular promenade.
“The craft:pegg solution surpassed all our expectations to create a much loved dynamic space for all generations, active throughout the year.”
The scheme includes the existing seawall, seaward seating decks, a grove of distinctive Tamarisk trees and a sculptural water feature that casts rainbows across the site.
