Digital technology is transforming the landscape and placemaking profession. As well as the Building Information Modelling (BIM) revolution in construction, geospatial technologies such as geographic information systems (GIS), GPS, remote sensing and geofencing are changing the face of both the built and natural environment.

The next LI CPD day will be on Tuesday 16 October 2018 at thestudio, Hive building, in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

  • Join us for a day of interactive exhibitions, digital training, and learning and discussions with leading experts in LVIA, AR, VR, BIM, GIS, gamification, social media and more
  • Hear from futurist Tom Cheesewright about tomorrow’s world of space, place and technology
  • Choose from 16 individual expert-led sessions

Network with fellow professionals, engage in our interactive exhibits and immersive plenaries, and develop your skills and knowledge in this crucial area of practice.

Can’t make it on the day?

About CPD days

Continuing professional development, or CPD, is a crucial aspect of professional body membership.

The LI asks all our corporate members to complete a minimum of 25 hours’ CPD activity per year. This is to help members uphold the highest standards of professional competence and knowledge.

To this end, the LI will run a full programme of CPD and specialist events from autumn 2018 and throughout 2019. A core element of all these events will be an inclusive interactive learning session delivered by a specialist in the field of study. (For members who can’t attend a CPD day in person, we will also live stream a selection of sessions on the day.)

LI CPD days are an excellent and affordable way for LI members and landscape-related professionals to develop their professional knowledge and expertise. The cost of attendance includes lunch, refreshments and networking opportunities.

  1. I ordered a ticket for this event, apart from the confirmation page on the website I have had no other information regarding my ticket. This is the second time I have emailed and I am getting concerned the event is fast approaching.

I would appreciate this matter being resolved as soon as possible.

    Kind Regards

    • Good afternoon Christopher,

I have checked with our events team, and can confirm that you are booked to attend the event. It is possible the confirmation email went to your junk or clutter folder – you may wish to check if you haven’t already, and ensure that is added to your safe senders list.

Joining instructions will be sent to all delegates 48 hours prior to the event.

If you have any further queries, please get in touch via .

      With best wishes,
      Ben

  2. Hi,
Due to project commitments, I’m unable to travel to Manchester to attend this CPD event. Will there be a Skype / Webinar link that we can sign up to, so we would join remotely? I’ve been hoping that for Digital Day this would be an option; but I haven’t seen anything yet…
    Kind regards
    Natasha

    • Dear Natasha,

Thanks for your comment, and sorry to hear that you can’t attend this event.

We are indeed streaming a selection of the content – we published the live stream pages earlier today. The first part of the stream (9.30 – 10.50am) will be free to view, while subsequent sessions will have paid access.

      Part 1
      Part 2

      I hope that this helps.

      • That’s great news, thank you! Please could a valid Security Certificate be used though? As things stand we wouldn’t be able to access the stream , due to “Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate”.
        Many thanks!

  3. HI, Unfortunately I’m not able to either attend or watch the streamed video – will there be an opportunity to watch the video at a later date, including the paid for content? Thanks
