Floodcom.eu conference will share best practice on flood alleviation.
Free to attend, the Floodcom.eu flood alleviation conference will take place on Wednesday 24 September in Antwerp, Belgium. Key speakers will cover topics related to climate change, the social impact of flooding, building responses and emergency services responses to flooding.
This topical conference is the culmination of a three-year European project involving five partners from four European countries. It is co-funded by INTERREG IV 2 Mers Seas Zeeën programme, Essex County Council, Chelmsford City Council, Waterwegen en Zeekanaal NV (Belgium), Institution Interdepartementale des Wateringues (France), and the Dutch City of Breda.
The project aims to promote positive water management in lowland areas facing climate change by building innovative flood alleviation schemes and updating central water monitoring systems. It also includes the production and implementation of an education pack for use in schools.
Registration is now open and the conference programme is available to download in English, French and Dutch.
