Design Council CABE has announced a small grants programme for not-for-profit organisations
The Design Council CABE is looking to support a range of project across England as apart of its Neighbourhood Projects Small Grants Programme. It is the first time that Design Council CABE has distributed grants in this way and aims to provide communities with design expertise and support.
Each grant is for a maximum of £7,000 and must be used for a single neighbourhood project. According to the Design Council CABE webiste, the grant is for improving the design quality of the built environment in neighbourhood projects, to create better places and will be achieved through providing design support to communities. The project must be in England, it must involve working directly ‘on the ground’ with the community, and the grant must be used to achieve a distinct, identifiable outcome.
Applicants must be not-for-profit organisations that provide design support, though that support could be at any stage from scoping through to implementation. For example, visioning workshops, providing planning/design expertise, training, site visits or awareness-raising.
The design body is encouraging applicants to be innovative in their approach. for more information, visit:
